With more than 50 years of life, SENER has carried out some of the most ambitious projects inside and outside Spain in any of its business areas, that is to say, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering and Architecture, Power and Process, and in Marine Engineering.

SENER was the first engineering company set up in Spain with the stated objective of carrying out industrial and marine architecture projects. It was in 1956. Four years later, SENER’s activities were extended into other fields, it was seen that the company had much to offer in industrial projects, especially since by the time Spain was in a phase of dynamic industrialization.

In 1963 SENER was involved in marine engineering, industrial plants, maritime works, iron and steel industry, chemical and petrochemical industry, and even civil works. Growth and diversification of activities have allowed SENER an outstanding role in the projects of the main Spanish oil refineries and nuclear power stations, as well as in the most important vehicle factories.

At the end of the sixties, already full engaged in multidisciplinary projects that linked diverse technologies since the mid sixties, SENER commenced its Space activities. From them on, SENER’s participation in the most significant space projects has been constant and fruitful.

In 1989 Communications were also incorporated into the fields of activity of SENER and, more recently, Control and Actuation Systems for application in aeronautics, propulsion, industrial machinery, medicine, and more recently, concentrated photovoltaic technologies and products…
