About SENER
The aerospace age and the FORAN discovery
1966
SENER secures its first international contract, winning a competition to design and construct a rocket launch tower at Kiruna (Sweden) for ESRO, the European Space Research Organization. This project represented the company’s initial foray into the aerospace sector, a sector in which SENER still occupies a leading position today.
During the sixties
SENER launches the FORAN System (an acronym in Spanish for FORmas ANalíticas, or Analytical Shapes), a CAD/CAE/CAM software package for designing and building ships. FORAN is currently used in more than 130 shipyards and technical offices in over 30 countries.
